Anti-Gay Slur Campaign

I would like to remind you guys that we are still working on our Anti-Gay Slur Campaign.

Remember, it starts at an individual level.  As members or leaders of the Gay Straight Alliance, we are the example. We must take a step back and see how we can change our own behavior to solve the problem. Have an active mindset. Instead of saying, "that's so gay" say "that's so not cool". Swearing and using hateful words isn't impressing anyone. Refrain from calling people names such as "fag" or "dyke" or any other discriminatory words. In fact, just try not calling people bad names at all. If you hear someone in your class say any hateful words, ask them not to or even tell your teacher. This is not acceptable behavior and we will not stand for it nor will we stand by it and let it happen.

Weekly Events: Friday February 4, 2011

Hey guys! So for this week we just have a couple things...

This Friday, February 4, we will hold our regular GSA meeting at tutorial in Mr. Porush's room (201) as usual.

DON'T MISS THIS MEETING and please bring your friends.

We will be talking about our own event coming up, the All GSA Dance. We will be discussing everything from wristbands, to music, to volunteering. Our event will be March 11 so save the date.

Also, for later that night...

*You don't have to be a GSA member to attend. LGBTQQ Youth and straight allies welcome, ages 13-24.
Questions? Contact: Dulce at dgarcia@chacmv.org

I hope to see everyone at the movie night and I better see everyone at the meeting.
